It is unfortunate that DDA did not take any suitable action before the Hon’ble Court to resolve the traffic congestion problem.
Today Aam Aadmi Party senior leader and Member of Parliament Sh. Sanjay Singh hold a meeting with DDA Vice Chairman Sh. Tarun Kapoor at DDA Head Quarter Vikas Sadan DDA along with Chief Law Officer, Principal Commissioner (Land Management) and Sh. Sanjey Puri Former Chairman MCD was also present. Sh. The basic objective of construction of Dabri Fly Over on Pankha Road was to smoothen the traffic on Dabri Palam Road but was defeated due to three shops situated on the middle of slip road which connects Pankha Road to Dwarka. The road is about 150 Feet wide at the start but due to Three Shops it shrinks to only 15 Feet thus resulted into lots of pollution, fuel wastage, traffic snarls and accidents because people used to take wrong side.
DDA vice Chairman Sh. Tarun Kapoor admits that the people are facing traffic congestion due to aforesaid three shops in the middle of the road. He further stated that although the aforesaid shops does not belong to DDA but in view of the direction by LG and due to larger public interest, DDA is ready to pay the compensation to the owners of aforesaid three shops. In this regard DDA has already written to the Divisional Commissioner (Revenue Department) to decide the compensation amount and accordingly DDA will pay the compensation to the owners of aforesaid shops.
Sh. Sanjay Singh thereafter called the Revenue Minister Sh. Kailash Gahlot and asked him to ensure that the revenue department should submit its report to DDA within two days. DDA VC assured Sh. Sanjay Singh that DDA will submit the application before the District Court on or before next date of hearing i.e. 06.03.2019 and pray to the court to vacate its stay order so that the shops may be demolished and road may be widened.
